Friday night, Teresa Carroll and the Top Cats return to Sole with her organ jazz power trio. With Teresa is Vlad and Aleks Gershevitz and Bill Kopper on guitar. As a child prodigy, Vlad has a deep classical background of 11 at the very prestigious Russian Uspenski School of Music. Years later he became immersed in jazz and moved to Vail and Aspen and later Denver and has been involved in numerous projects in town with AOA, 5 Points Jazz Festival, Santa Fe and Vail Jazz festivals. He is unusual in his ability to join with mastery, jazz and classical piano into a seamless perfect integration. One can hear musical passages that move in and out of Oscar Peterson to Rachmaninoff with moments of beautiful lyricism of the romantic nocturnes. I suspect that his organ jazz playing will be yet a completely different musical experience. His son Aleks is 15 and also was a child prodigy. He recorded with Eddie Gomez when he was 12 and has the same Russian musical discipline of the Russian masters tradition. The kid can play! Bill Kopper on guitar, has played a lot of organ jazz with some of the greats and is spot on with these guys. I love hearing Bill play the cool, hot, hip style of organ jazz.
Teresa Carroll is one of the great jazz singers in Colorado and the US. In her 20s she performed in NYC with many of the great jazz legends and was called by Art Blakey’s wife, Evelyn…that white girl that sang (quite a compliment!). Friday night will be hot. Don’t miss it! Dinner service is 6-9 and showtime 7-10. For our diners to get a table, dinner reservations are recommended at firstname.lastname@example.org. Voluntary Cover Charge $10.00
Saturday night is the Dave Fulker Quintet. Dave on fluegelhorn always has a great band and a great sound that moves through the jazz classics, the American Song Book and Latin classics. Playing with Dave is Paul Cotugno on piano, Rob Dando on bass and yes…Teresa Carroll on vocals. In addition to headlining the top cats, Teresa’s rendering of the jazz classics is impeccable and very soulful. This will be a terrific evening. Dave fills the house, so dinner reservations are recommended at email@example.com. Dinner is 6-9 and showtime is 7-10. Cover charge is $10.
Summer is here in full swing and there are few things better than enjoying the pleasant Boulder evenings on our patio with some fine cuisine, wine and live jazz.

Voluntary Cover Charge- this was best expressed by one of the local Jazz legends, “pay what you can afford or are inspire to…and then some”. This way everyone is included and the musicians are taken care of.
